CLOX

Time, formatted like code.

CLOX is an Android-first clock in pre-development, designed for technology enthusiasts who want time, world clocks and focus sessions to complement their setup through code-inspired formats, themes and display controls.

Currently in pre-development

CLOX is currently in planning and design. Its core concept and intended first-release features are established, but some details may evolve as development progresses.

Concept visual. Final Android design and features may change.

The idea

Written in your language. Coloured like your editor.

Standard clocks tell you the time but rarely add anything to the personality of a device or a workspace. CLOX is designed so the clock earns its place — starting with the language time is written in and the palette it is written with.

Eight language formats and twelve editor-inspired colour themes are planned for the first release, with more language formats intended later.

Language formats

  • JavaScript
  • Python
  • Swift
  • Kotlin
  • Rust
  • Go
  • C++
  • JSON

Editor-inspired colour themes

Indicative palettes. Final theme names and colours are still in development.

Planned customisation

Make time fit your setup.

Choose how time is written, what information appears and how the display behaves — from language and colour to layout, orientation and brightness.

Core display controls

  • 12-hour or 24-hour time
  • Show or hide seconds
  • Show or hide the date
  • Show or hide the timezone
  • Language format
  • Colour theme

Advanced presentation controls

  • Show or hide line numbers
  • Compact or expanded layout
  • Syntax-colour adjustments
  • Screen brightness
  • Portrait and landscape layouts
  • Burn-in protection
Intended first release

Three areas, wherever you look

CLOX is planned around three parts of the same idea, shown across the surfaces you actually glance at.

  • Clock

Code-based time display, with the language formats, colour themes and display controls above.

  • World Clocks

Multiple selected locations, each shown through the same CLOX visual language.

  • Pomodoro

Focus and break sessions with clear session progress, in the same code-inspired style.

  • The app

The full CLOX clock, and where formats, themes and display options are set up.

  • Home-screen widgets

Resizable widgets, so the code clock sits on your home screen without opening the app.

  • Desk Mode

A full-screen display for a docked or charging phone, portrait or landscape, with burn-in protection for long sessions.

Planned model and privacy

How CLOX will work

Useful for free. Complete with one purchase.

CLOX is planned as a free download with a useful core clock experience and an optional one-time CLOX Complete upgrade.

No subscription. No advertising. No X Made account.

Full details will be published closer to release.

Private and on-device by design

CLOX is being planned around on-device storage. Settings, selected world clocks and Pomodoro activity are intended to remain on the user’s device, without requiring an X Made account or cloud synchronisation.

Google Play Billing and essential Android platform services will still be used where required. The final privacy details will be verified against the finished app before release.

The CLOX Privacy Policy will be published there before release. See our Privacy page for how this website handles data.
