One connected experience

One calculator. Six practical tools.

The keypad stays clean and uncluttered, with Scientific mode there when you need it in SUMX Pro. Alongside it sit six tools that put everyday calculations, VAT, business maths and international currency conversion in one place.

Percentage, VAT and Discount are part of SUMX Free. The three marked Pro arrive with the SUMX Pro upgrade.

  • The SUMX calculator with Scientific mode on. A row of DEG, sin, cos, tan, asin and acos keys sits above the standard keypad, showing sin(45) resolved to 0.70710678118655.

Scientific mode adds a function row above the keypad and leaves everything else where it was.

  • The SUMX Tools tab, listing Percentage, VAT Calculator, Discount and Margin & Markup under Finance, then Unit Converter and Currency Converter under Conversion.

All six tools in one list, grouped by what you came to work out.

How it works

Nothing gets retyped. Nothing gets lost.

The SUMX History tab with All, Favourites and Recent filters. Entries include sin(45) from the scientific calculator and several arithmetic results, two of them starred as favourites.
One history for everything. Each entry shows which tool produced it, and the starred ones stay within reach.

  • Results move between tools

Save a result, copy it, or send it straight to the main calculator. A figure you have already worked out never has to be typed twice.

  • One searchable unified history

Calculator and tool results land in one history you can search, and you can see which tool each entry came from. SUMX Free keeps your 20 most recent entries; SUMX Pro extends that to 1,000 and adds favourites for the calculations you return to.

  • Precise, without the fuss

Large whole numbers stay exact, and floating-point artefacts like 0.30000000000000004 don’t appear. Long results stay readable, and the exact value is still there to copy.

  • Faster correction and entry

Progressive backspace and hold-to-clear fix mistakes quickly. Brackets appear where they make sense, and pasted values such as £1,234.56 are normalised safely.

Personalisation

Make it yours.

Enough to make SUMX feel like yours, without turning it into a settings screen.

  • SUMX settings in dark theme. A Light, Dark and System theme switch sits above a grid of twelve accent colours with teal selected, followed by Scientific mode, Haptics and Key sounds toggles.

Theme, accent, haptics and key sounds. One screen, and then it stays out of the way.

  • The same SUMX calculator in light theme, with the entry 1000+10000, the result 11,000 in teal, and a keypad of pale round keys.

The same calculator in light theme. Every accent is drawn for both, so neither is the afterthought.

Accent colour

Twelve accents. Teal comes with SUMX Free; the other eleven are part of SUMX Pro.

Privacy

Keep it yours.

Your calculations and calculation history are stored on your device. SUMX does not require an X Made account or cloud synchronisation, and your calculations are never sent to us.

Internet access is used when reference currency rates are refreshed. Google Play will also be used to process and restore the SUMX Pro purchase. Your calculations are not included in those requests.

Saved history and preferences are excluded from Android cloud backup. If you use Android’s device-to-device transfer when setting up a new phone, Android may copy them across at your instruction. The SUMX Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is stored, what is sent and how to remove it.

See our Privacy page for how this website handles data.

Where it works

Designed for UK users. Useful worldwide.

SUMX is designed around UK users first — VAT, and the number and currency conventions that go with it.

The tools themselves travel well: percentages, margin and markup, discounts, unit conversion and currency conversion are useful wherever you are. Wider localisation is planned.
